Alexander Mendez, Esq. was born and raised in Westchester County, New York. He graduated from Duke University in 2011, double majoring in Political Policy and Political Science with a minor in Classical Studies. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Alexander obtained his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he worked on the editorial board of the Fordham International Law Journal.
Once admitted to the New York State Bar, Alexander worked at the Queens County District Attorney’s Office in New York City as an Assistant District Attorney. During his time there, Alexander handled all aspects of criminal cases from inception to end, including conducting complex criminal investigations, interviewing victims and witnesses, handling arraignments and arrests, presenting cases before a Grand Jury, and conducting motion practice along with hearings and trials. Prior to departing from the District Attorney’s Office, Alexander was working in the Investigations Division, handling the prosecution of those suspected of tax fraud.
Alexander comes to Liakas Law having experience at both insurance defense and plaintiff personal injury firms, possessing several years of experience handling motor vehicle accident and premises injury cases. Alexander is a passionate litigator with years of courtroom, deposition, and motion practice experience. He is familiar with the tactics that large insurance companies will use to prevent you from obtaining the financial recovery you deserve and applies his knowledge every day to champion for you alongside the many experienced attorneys at Liakas Law.
